Zilphia "Peggy" Batson

Zilphia “Peggy” Batson, age 90 of Porter, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015. She was born August 29, 1924 in Township Deposit, New York to parents Robert Fee Beckley and Doskea Ruth Cooper who preceded her in death along with her husband, Aldon Batson; daughter, Pamela Fulcher; and granddaughter, Sarah Denise Baughman. Survivors include her daughters, Betty Ruth Howard and Ricky Coldiron, Bonny Kay and husband Mario A. Herrera, and Patricia Lean and husband Dennis Lee Baughman; grandchildren, Jody Lee and Chelsea Ann Baughman, Mario, Robert, and Ramon Herrera, Kayley Smith, Karry Howard and Shelby Kolb; great-grandchildren Colton Allen and baby Rivette, Russel Manning, Robert, Manny, Rachel, Theresa, Alex, Jessica, Jordan, Ramon, Margarita, Jayda, Jorel, and Justice Herrera, Carson, Cayleb, Hunter, Wyatt, and Carter Smith, Chelsea, Aldon, and Stormy Fulcher along with numerous other relatives and friends. Rev. Kenn Munn will preside over a memorial service held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to one of the following charities: Friendship United Methodist Church-Porter, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein (International Fellowship of Christians and Jews), Shepherd Chapel, Life Outreach, Salesian Missions, Texas Children’s Hospital, Daystar Television Network, American Leprosy Missions, American Heart Assn., Foundation for American Veterans, Mercy Corps, and Breakthrough as these were some of her favorites.
