Yolanda Marie Scheffer, 46, of Dayton, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Yolanda was born August 17, 1967 in Houston, a former resident of Pasadena, and has resided in Dayton for the past 10 years. She was a graduate of the Sam Rayburn High School Class of 1987and a bartender at the Oaks Club in Dayton. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, fishing, shopping, gardening, and was an activist in the community. Mrs. Scheffer was preceded in death by her mother: Mary Ann Cerda. She is survived by her husband: Alan Scheffer of Dayton, sons: Kevin Goodson of Dayton, Allen Goodson of Dayton, and Kenneth Scheffer and fiancé Emily of Dayton, sister: Angela Santos Villarreal and husband Tim of Houston, brothers: Frank Santos and wife Susan Sides of Austin, Matthew Trevino of Pasadena, Greg Santos of Baytown, Robert Santos and wife Tammy of Kemah, and Mike Cerda of Houston, grandchildren: Zachary Goodson, Shawn Goodson, Zaida Goodson, Grace Scheffer, Ruby Goodson, Carter Goodson, and Kaleb, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
