William M. Nelson

William M. “Bones” Nelson was born in Lubbock, Texas on October 27, 1936. He passed away in Cleveland, Texas on February 27, 2023 at the age of 86. Bones worked as a truckdriver for many years with Merchant’s Motor Freight and he proudly served our country in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lavada Nelson; son, Eddie Nelson; 4 brothers and five sisters. Bones is survived by his daughters, Jo L. Lilley and Rhonda G. Mizell; son, William Randall Nelson; grandchildren, William Michael Nelson, Autumn Rene Farris, Randi D’Wan Vaughn; great grandchildren, Fiona Nelson, Rian McDaniel, Chase Farris; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 6-7pm. Graveside Service is scheduled for Thursday, March 2, 2023 in the Magnolia Cemetery at 2pm with Tobey Clements officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be, Randy Nelson, James Mizell, Cody Vaughn, Michael Nelson, Edd Farris, Sam Houston, Skip Roark. Honorary pallbearers will be Rian Farris and Chase Farris.
