William Robert Enix, known affectionately to many as "Poopa," passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, in Grangerland, Texas, at the age of 89. He was born on March 12, 1935, to Lula Cole Enix and Ed Enix in Harlan, Kentucky.
Bob was the kindest, hardest working man you’d ever meet, and he would do anything for his family. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a load master during the Korean War, where he traveled all over the globe. Upon completion of his tour, he worked as print master for a local newspaper. He was active in church, where he met the love of his life, Evelyn. He then went to work as a dairy farmer, sparking his love of animals. He retired after working as an air conditioning installation and repair technician.
He was a true cowboy through and through. In his off time, he enjoyed being outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, and camping with the family. He appreciated having his own farm and cherished all animals, especially his hound dogs. He relished watching westerns and war movies, and listening to country music. But above all else, he lovingly adored spending time with his family. He found joy in making others laugh and would light up any room he entered.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his daughter Debra Brown; son William R. Enix Jr.; son Thomas Enix and wife Veronica; daughter Robin White and husband Danny. He was blessed with ten grandchildren, Charlotte Neves, Zack Gillioun, Annie Gillioun, Savannah Benway, Christopher White, Hannah Smith, Caleb Enix, Danni Bissell, Sabrina Enix, and William R. Enix III. His favor continued with ten great-grandchildren, Kris Neves, Anjali Sample, Zayden Gillioun, Mason Sample, Adalynn Gillioun, Kamden Gillioun, Wesden Gillioun, Kymalee White, Penelope White, and Anna White.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Enix, his parents Lula and Ed, and his siblings, Janette, Clyde, Willard, Polly, Alta, Mary Barbara, and Carol.
