William E. "Bill" Fox

William E. “Bill” Fox, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at home in Dayton, Texas.

Services for Mr. Fox will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Dayton with the Rev. Mike Chadwick and Kenneth Voytek officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., Forest Park East in Webster, Texas. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Bill was born August 18, 1935 in Beaumont, Texas to parents, Garnett Stratton Fox and Mattie Sue Herrmans Fox. He served in the United States Army and retired from Gulf States Utilities after 33 years of service. Bill was a long time resident of Dayton where he was very active in numerous civic organizations, including the Dayton Lions Club and Dayton Community Development Corporation. He was a former fireman and search and rescue responder for the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department. Bill enjoyed woodworking, photography and sailing. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Garnett Stratton Fox, Jr and Ronald Bruce Fox, his son, Darrell Wayne Fox and the mother of his children, Marlene Helen Ramke Fox. He is survived by his wife, Margie English Harris-Fox of Dayton; daughters, Terri Lynn Fox Moore and husband Charles of Beaumont and Michelle Denise Fox of San Antonio; son, Michael David Fox of Houston; step-sons, Kenneth Alan Harris of Friendswood and William Donald Harris, III and wife Stacy of Frisco; sister-in-law, Bettye Jane Fox; grandchildren, Chloe Seraphina Fox and Paolo Solomon Fox of Sugarland; step granddaughters, Samantha and Sydney Saucedo of Frisco; numerous other relatives and a host of friends
