Willa Lea Murphy

Willa Lea Sanders Murphy, 88, of Dayton died Thursday, June 15, 2017.

Services for Willa will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Willa was born July 2, 1928 in Ashcamp, Kentucky. She had lived the past 23 years in Dayton and had previously lived in Pasadena. She was friendly and always smiling. Willa loved to sew, was a beautician, school teacher, accountant, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with the senior group “The Gadabouts” and loved flowers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Thomas Sanders and son Terry Lee Murphy. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Stevens of Dayton, Theresa Murphy of Dayton; son, Sheron Murphy of Dayton; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Murphy of Dayton; grandchildren, Michael Murphy, Patrick Heathcock, Laura Dummer, Tanya Stevens Carroll, and Karen Lane, great-grandchildren, Shevon George, Robert Murphy, Aurby Dummer, Ashley Lane, Kaleb Lane, Adam Heathcock, Michael Latham, and Autumn Carroll, great-great grandchildren, Cecila Iyre, Zipporah, Lester Jr., Angelica, and Shiner; also numerous other relatives and friends.
