Wilbert Henry Kriegel

Wilbert Henry Kriegel, 75, of Liberty passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Nassau Bay.

Visitation for Mr. Kriegel will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Pace-Stancil with burial to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty.

Wilbert was born August 6, 1941 in Houston, Texas to parents, Carl Paul Kriegel and Della Emma Findeisen Kriegel. He had been a resident of Liberty for 38 years and was previously of Houston. He attended Lutheran High School in Houston and the University of Houston. Wilbert was a member of the Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crosby where he was a deacon for many years. He was a tool and die maker with his own machine shop. He enjoyed working on model airplanes and antique clocks, always fixing and tinkering on something. Snow skiing, off-roading and riding four wheelers were some of his favorite things to do.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 45 years, Landis Candelier Kriegel of Liberty; sons, Paul Kriegel Walker and wife Melodie of Pasadena, Ned Herndon and wife Michelle of Liberty, Warren Cheeney and wife Linda of League City, and Jose Gonzales and wife Mary of Galena Park; daughters, Angela Kriegel of Liberty and Sandra Dibeler and husband Wesley of Mont Belvieu; brothers, Charles Kriegel and wife Jeannine of Houston; sister, Jeannette Schaefer of Austin; grandchildren, Katherine DeLoach, Barbara J. Herndon, Leanne Herndon, Kelsie Walker, Chance Cheeney, and Chase Cheeney; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
