Wesley Eugene Joy

Wesley E. “Wes” Joy, 54, of Dayton, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Wes was born October 1, 1959, to parents; Randy R., Sr. and Katherine Daniels Joy, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Dayton for the past seven years. He was a graduate of Lee High School class of 1977, a material handler for Arkema Chemical of Houston with 35 years of employment, and will be remembered as a caring and helpful person to all. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, wood working, and tinkering. Mr. Joy was preceded in death by his father: Randy R. Joy, Sr. and brother: Randy R. Joy, Jr. He is survived by his wife of seven years: Karen Westphal Joy of Dayton, daughters: Katherine L. Joy of Dayton and Jessica A. Powell of Baytown, mother: Katherine Daniels Joy of Batson, sister: Maura Joy of Baytown, granddaughter: Kaylyn Lambert, nephew: Trey Joy, special friend: Eddie Foote who gave lifesaving aid prior to Wes’ hospitalization, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
