Wentworth Guy Eaton

Dr. Wentworth Guy Eaton, 80, of The Woodlands, died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Dayton, Texas; with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Pallbearers are Jay Walker, Joshua Johnson, Collin Eaton, Zachary Eaton, Brandon Fant, Nandy Neuman, Lester Ray Wiseberger. Honorary Pallbearers are Cash Walker and Shane Walker and Randy Goodwin. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015, from 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.

Wentworth was born April 10, 1934 in Dayton, to parents; Guy and Pomella Moran Eaton.
He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1952, an athletic and academic scholarship lead him to the University of Texas, obtained his Bachelors degree from Stephen F. Austin in 1956, and received his Doctorate from the University Of Texas Medical Branch Of Galveston in 1961. His internship was served at Memorial Hospital of Houston, resident with the University of Texas, Postgraduate School of Medicine Houston, John Sealy Hospital, St. Joseph, and chief resident with MD Anderson. He was drafted following college, served with the US Air Force during Vietnam, opened a private practice, and was on staff at Houston Northwest Medical Center, Memorial Downtown, Parkway, and Little York Hospitals. Dr. Eaton held membership in numerous organizations, founded two clinics, wrote many publications, lectured, and delivered numerous presentations to the medical community. He also enjoyed cooking, drawing, painting, making jewelry, and geology.

Dr. Eaton was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Wendy Gayle Eaton, and sister: Doris Mae Schwalm. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Barbara Brooks Eaton of The Woodlands, daughters: Adrienne Eaton of Houston, Lauryl Johnson of The Woodlands, Angela Eaton of The Woodlands, and Shantel Walker and husband Jay of The Woodlands, sons: Wentworth G. Eaton, II and wife Anna Marie of Sugarland, Derek Eaton of Jacksonville, Florida, and Mike McCoy of Athens, grandchildren: Jennifer Jines, Joshua Johnson, Collin Eaton, Tyler Eaton, Caroline Eaton, Zachary Eaton, Cash Walker, Shane Walker, and Anna-Liisa Moss, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
