Wendell Lavoyd Carter, 67, died August 31, 2017 at home.
Services for Wendell will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Rob Davis officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 02, 2017 at the funeral home.
Wendell was born April 16, 1950 in McKinney, Texas to parents, W.L. “Dub” Carter and Ruth Etoy Ragan Carter. He had previously lived in Oklahoma and had worked as a pipefitter. He and his family moved to Dayton 20 years ago. Wendell was thick skinned and known as an agitator. He also enjoyed fishing, being with his family and especially loved his grandchildren.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael Carter, and his grandson, Kollsen Carter. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Fountain Carter of Dayton; his daughter, Candi Morgan and husband Scotty; grandchildren, Ronnie Carter, Zach Morgan, Kelsi Morgan, Derek Carter, Kollby Carter and Ryan Carter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
