Wanda Kay Edwards Votaw, 51, of Devers (formerly of Kenefick) went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday, May 31, 2013, in Baytown. Visitation will be Sunday evening, June 2, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Devers located at 106 Avenue A and Gates Street in Devers. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held Monday, June 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., also at the First Baptist Church of Devers. Pastors Rick Edwards, Shawn Vickers, and Bill Fabrigueze will be officiating the service. Funeral services will be under the direction of the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home of Dayton. Humbly serving as pallbearers will be: Jacob Votaw, Dylan Lejeune Votaw, Dustin Sanford, Kevin Edwards, Coby Edwards, Chase Edwards, and Josh King. Honorary pallbearers include Chad Edwards, Christy Lee Sanford, and Mr. Travis Young. During her journey through this life on Earth, Wanda enjoyed going to church, taking care of her home and her husband, talking on the phone, drawing/coloring her famous, one-of-a-kind family portraits, and spending every second she could with her family. If you met Wanda you would forever remember her smile; it was sincere and she loved everyone. She also enjoyed telling tales of the places she had lived and traveled to as a child from Texas to Iran to the Canary Islands in Spain. She will be remembered as a true artist. Wanda was born on September 6, 1961 to C. W. Edwards and Ruby Doris Yates Edwards in Amarillo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her dad, C.W. Edwards and her stepdad, Don Woosley. She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Ronald James Votaw; mother, Ruby Edwards of Tarkington; 3 brothers, Charlie Edwards and wife Carla of Hardin, Kenny Edwards and wife Connie of Tarkington, Ricky Edwards and wife Kendra of Devers; 2 brothers-in-law, David Votaw and wife Theresa of Tarkington, Richard Votaw and wife Tina of Kenefick; one sister-in-law, Cindy Votaw of the Dallas area. Also left to cherish her memories are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who she loved with ALL her heart as well as a lifetime collection of treasured friends.
