Vivian Lee Logsdon Richardson

Vivian Logsdon Richardson, age 76, entered eternal rest on January 28, 2024, in Dayton, Texas. Born on July 30, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to Sherman Logsdon and Rhoda Walter Logsdon, Vivian leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Vivian resided in Dayton for the past 45 years, having previously called the Galena Park/Northshore area home. A proud graduate of the Galena Park Class of '65, she was deeply rooted in her community. Her commitment to faith was evident in her many years of active membership at the First Assembly of God Church of Dayton.

For two decades, Vivian served alongside her beloved husband as a greeter at First Assembly, where she discovered her calling. Her warm and welcoming spirit blessed countless individuals who entered the church doors every Sunday. Known for her funny personality and memorable sayings, she had a unique ability to liven up any gathering. One of her favorite expressions, "Now that you got what you want, do you want what you got?" resonated with many, and she never missed an opportunity to remind others that "Jesus Loves You."

Outside of her church involvement, Vivian dedicated part of her life to comforting grieving families as a funeral service attendant at Pace Stancil. Her genuine nature, lack of judgment, and selfless giving made her a source of comfort to those in need.

Vivian's sweet tooth was legendary, and she always carried a stash of sweets in her purse, ready to share a treat and a smile with those around her. A devoted Dayton Broncos fan, she took great joy in supporting her favorite team.

Her greatest loves were her grandbabies and great-grandbabies, each holding a special place in her heart. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Molly Olney and Dorris Welfl, grandson Alan Dowdy, and great-granddaughter Averie Richardson.

She is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart of 58 years, Rodger Richardson, son Mike Richardson and wife Donna, daughter Kim Dickerson and husband Michael, sisters Jackie Brown, Karen Melton and husband Bobby, grandchildren Justin Dowdy, Kati Matysiak and husband Chase, Micah Richardson, Garrett Richardson, Anna Richardson and fiancé Martin Gallegos, great-grandchildren Kyson and Hayden Matysiak, Bryan and Amelia Gallegos, Ava Richardson, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation to celebrate Vivian's life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Assembly of God in Dayton, Texas, followed by a service at 12:00 PM. The burial will take place at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Pastor Cope will lead the service, with Micah Richardson, Garrett Richardson, Justin Dowdy, Chase Matysiak, Martin Gallegos, and John Kamara serving as pallbearers.
