Velma Ruth Sweeten

Velma Ruth Sweeten, age 89 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019. She was born March 17, 1930 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Ezra Rdean and Edith Magdalene Havins Whitmire who preceded her in death along with her husband, Robert “Bob” Sweeten; and brothers, Henry Thomas Whitmire, Tolbert Eugene Whitmire, and Lloyd Daniel Whitmire.

She is survived by her son, R.C. Sweeten and wife Norma Jean; grandchildren, Wendy Sweeten, Lee Bailey and husband Ronnie, and Crystal Sweeten; great-grandchildren, Arion McGough, Lindsey Golemon, Ty Sweeten, Cherin Bailey, Tristen Ward, Gabby Bailey, Rowdy Ward, Cattle Ward and Faith Bailey; nine great-great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Wells Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
