Velma Howard

Velma Lee Howard, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away on February 2nd, 2025, at the age of 89. Velma was born to parents Henry Janssen and Augusta Gerjes Janssen in Ganado, Texas, on August 15th, 1935.Velma loved to be outdoors, whether she was working out in her garden or going hunting. She also loved to cook delicious meals for her family, and find hidden treasures at garage sales. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Velma is survived by her husband Fred A. Howard, two daughters Carolyn Squier and her husband Mike, of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Cindy Manahan and her husband Frank of Flatonia, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son Freddie Ray Howard of Houston, Texas.In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Parkinson’s research. A graveside service for Velma will be held at a later date.
