Troy Gene Herring

Troy Gene “Baldy” Herring was born May 17, 1968 in Pasadena, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd “Bo” Herring.

Troy was a graduate of Baytown Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas. He worked in the rigging/crane industry most of his life. Troy enjoyed the outdoors, collecting knives, music, guns and loved to barbecue. His favorite time was spent with family and friends. He adored being a Paw Paw and spending time with his grandkids: Blake Issac, Kayden “the King” Fontenot, Kamryn “Sassy” Fontenot.

He is survived by his wife Shelly Herring; daughters Sydney Herring and fiance’ Tyler Trantham, Shelby Herring, Sloan Herring, Le-Ann Butcher; sons Mason Herring, Christian Herring of Dayton, Billy Herring, Kody Herring and daughter of Crosby, Texas. Wayne and Nadine Culver of Dayton, B.F. “Benny” and Susan Williams of Dayton, and multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lifetime friends that were like family to him; Jamie and Catrina “Big Red” and children, Joni Kelly and children, Michael and Sherry Lowery and children, Richard and Candi Campanile and children, Donny Heffernan and family, Rick and Cherri Jackson and children, The Porche’ family, Mike and Teresa Sutherland, Jonahthan Terrell, Trish Terrell. All his brothers of the Hook! He loved y’all more than you will ever know.

Troy is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd “Bo” Herring; brother, Timothy “Timbo” Herring, mother-in-law, Annie “MeMe” Leffler; a daughter; a nephew and niece; a great niece; Cindy Staner “mother”; Shelly Butcher “Shell Bell”; Granny and Paw Paw Herring.

The memorial service for Troy will be Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas with a visitation prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All services are under the direction of Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.
