Travis Daniels

March 10, 1944 — August 28, 2015

Travis Odell Daniels, 71, returned to his heavenly home on August 28, 2015. Over the past 4 years his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle with cancer and his faith in Jesus gave him peace. Travis was born to James Lonnie and Mary Lou Daniels on March 10, 1944. He was one of nine children. On July 24, 1961 Travis enlisted in the US Navy’s Submarine Sailor Division where he received his Dolphin Pin. By the time he was honorably discharged on December 12, 1968, he also received a National Defense Service Medal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Bronze Star and a Good Conduct Medal for his tours in Vietnam. He married his best friend, Arlene on September 20, 1985 in Cleveland, Texas. Travis helped raise their five children with devotion and love. Travis is survived by his wife, Arlene; and his daughters Candace Goolsby and husband Jacob, Tracy Staton and husband Deacon, Mary Lane, Patricia Daniels and Amelia Daniels; 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his brothers David Daniels and wife Kathy, Allen Daniels and wife Cheryl, Floyd Daniels and wife Loy and his sisters Dorothy Winchester and Janice Sipanka and husband Alan. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers James Darrell Daniels and Richard Daniels and his granddaughters, Brianna Daniels and Tammy Lynn Daniels. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is now at peace with his Creator. Pastor Earl Faust will officiate the memorial service for Travis at the Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. He will be laid to rest following the memorial services at the Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas. The family would like to thank each person who has prayed for them, given food and beverages and/or been a help in any way during their hours of need. May God richly bless you for your show of love and support.
