Tonya Lynn Prater, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on June 1, 2023 in Channelview, Texas. Born on June 30, 1966 in Dayton, Ohio. Tonya was a vibrant and caring individual who brought joy and laughter to everyone she encountered.
Tonya was preceded in death by her parents Cathy and Ted Hardin. She is survived by her children Tony Schutte, Jesse Osburn, Julia Osburn and Julia’s husband Stephen Romo. Tonya was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Colton Martinez, Ryder Martinez, Amelia Romo, Jacob Romo and Stephen Romo Jr. Her brother Jimbo Prater, his wife Crystal, her sister Catrina Neault and her husband Jamie. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends will remember her fondly.
Tonya was a loving and dedicated mother who always put her children first. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished. She took great pride in their accomplishments and was always there to support and encourage them in their endeavors. Tonya's love for her family was evident in the countless hours she spent alongside them.
Tonya had a natural gift for making people laugh and her sense of humor was infectious. She could easily light up a room with her wit and charm and her laughter was contagious. Friends and family will remember Tonya for her ability to find humor in any situation and her willingness to share a laugh with others.
Tonya Lynn Prater was a loving, caring and compassionate woman who touched the lives of many. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts and minds of those she leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas with Pastor Chuck Fountain presiding.
