Thomas "Tem" Elbert Meigs

November 12, 1953 — June 4, 2019

Thomas “Tem” Elbert Meigs, 65, of Dayton passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Liberty. He was born November 12, 1953 in Baytown, Texas to parents Jerald Meigs and Dorothy Welch Meigs.

Graveside Services for Mr. Meigs will be 3:00 p.m, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Magnolia Park Cemetery with Craig Burgess officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jackson Burgess, Marvin Banik, Dave Clayton, William Rutledge, and Craig Burgess.

Mr. Meigs was a resident of Dayton for the past 8 years and had lived most of his life in Highlands. He had many years of service with Exxon where he was a technician. Tem enjoyed riding motorcycles, the Astros and Aggie football. He was a true history buff and enjoyed reading. Most of all he loved his family and the times they had together.

Tem was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cynthia Banik. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jackie Meigs: daughters, Kristi Burgess and husband Craig; grandchildren, Jackson Burgess and Aubrey Burgess; his loyal dog, Jessie; numerous other relatives and close friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Magnolia Place and the entire staff for their kind and loving care.
