Thomas A. Tower, Sr. passed away peacefully November 28, 2020 at the age of 89. He was born on October 29, 1931, in Houston, Texas. He was the youngest of five children and the only one to be born in Houston, as the rest of the family was originally from New Orleans, LA. He attended Park Place Elementary, Deady Junior High, and graduated Milby Senior High School in 1950. Enlisting in the U.S. Air Force after High School, he spent 1951 to 1955 there, being discharged as Airman First Class or E4. He was a semi-professional photographer for a few years and enjoyed photography as a hobby for the rest of his life. He also had an interest in electronics, building a HeathKit television and a metal detector. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brunetta Lloyd Bradley (Tower), father, Isaac N. Tower, his brothers Isaac N. Tower II and McCormick Burton Tower, and his sisters Lloyd Martin and Ida Lou Lilgestrand. He is survived by his sons Thomas A. Tower, Jr. and his wife, Karin L. Ewer and Matthew A. Tower, ex wife Dolorious Burwell, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be buried at Houston National Cemetery with full military honors Tuesday, December 8, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to The Shriner’s Hospital or Texas Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
