Tami Renee' Blackmon Martin, a beloved member of the Mont Belvieu community, went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2024, at the age of 61, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on November 5, 1962, in Kountze, Texas, Tami was the daughter of Troylene Crawford Blackmon and the late Glynn Blackmon.
For 45 years, Tami called Mont Belvieu her home, where she lovingly raised her two children, Jenifer Storm and Ryan Martin. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to her seven grandchildren, all of whom attend Barbers Hill ISD and reside in Mont Belvieu. Tami's dedication to her family was evident in every aspect of her life.
Throughout her career, Tami embraced various roles, from serving as a mail carrier for the post office to working as a nurse's aide with home health. Most recently, she served as an office manager for a neurologist in Baytown. Despite unofficially “retiring” 18 years ago, Tami's true passion lay in caring for her grandchildren, whom she cherished above all else.
Tami had a zest for life that was infectious. She found solace in spending time with her family and indulging in her favorite pastime of visiting Lake Sam Rayburn. An avid lover of 70's music, Tami's home was often filled with the melodies of that era. She enjoyed cooking and grilling, especially during holiday gatherings where she eagerly assisted her mother in preparing meals for the family. Over the years, time spent with her “three sisters” who she adored was time that made her shine with pride. She was quick to introduce her sisters to others and loved the moments they spent together.
Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she selflessly coached several of Jenifer's softball and basketball little league teams and happily took on the role of team mom when needed. Tami's greatest joy was found in the simple moments spent with her grandchildren, whether playing games, doing crafts, or dancing to music
Tami was preceded in death by her father, Glynn Blackmon, her uncle, Mike Crawford, aunt, Pat Jacobson, in-laws, Wayne and Diane Verret, and brother-in-law, Jerry Verret. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her husband of 46 years Ronnie Martin, children, Jenifer Storm and husband Jeff and Ryan Martin and wife Jessica, sisters Kim Gentry and husband Chris, Angie Sarria and husband Brian and Stephanie Martin and her husband Scotty, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Kenadi, Kambrie, River, Maverick, Jaylynn, Joey, and Jexi.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Tami's memory will forever live on. A private graveside service will be held at Linney Cemetery on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., where family will gather to celebrate her remarkable life and bid her a fond farewell, all services under the direction of Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.
