T J Crayton, 89, of Sugarland, passed away Monday, February 10, 2023 in Sugarland. He was born November 25, 1933 in Longview, Texas to his late parents, Thomas Jefferson Crayton and Sybil Scott Crayton.
T J had lived in Sugarland for the last two years, previously lived in Dayton and Austin, was a retired HVAC control technician, member of the Baptist faith and Pipefitters Local #211 and was an Air Force veteran. He was involved in the Dayton Historical Society and Dayton Senior Citizens Center, was a professional drummer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and reading history books.
Mr. Crayton was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Crayton and sisters, Lavaile Crayton and Valerie Morris.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Wanda Crayton; sons, Thomas Jay Crayton and his wife, Denise and Doug Ray Crayton; grandchildren, Justin Crayton and his wife, Renea, Amanda Schafer and her husband, Mani, Nicole Moura and her husband, Ryan and Megan Crayton; great-grandsons, Nolan Schafer and Mason Moura; niece, Mary Gotcher and her husband Joe and many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with Rev. James Langston officiating.
