STEVEN MICHAEL COLLINS
Steve Collins passed from this life at his home in Houston, TX on February 26, 2021. He was 60 years old.
Steve was born on March 4, 1960 in Chicago, IL. He leaves two sons, Nathan, 16 and David, 14 as well as his parents, Webster Collins (Phyllis) and Eileen (Murphy) Hood, sister, Lara (Collins) Martin (Craig), stepsister, Judy (Hood) Wason (Art), stepbrother, Mitch Hood, nieces Jessica Hodson, Abbi Hood, nephews, Joel Hodson, Jonathan Hodson, Jacob Wason and Ben Hood.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, stepfather, Clyde Hood and stepbrother, Don Hood.
Steve’s faith and spirituality were important to him and he practiced Messianic Judaism and was Torah-observant. He was a kind and tender man that was compassionate to those he met often giving unselfishly of himself to family, friends, and to those in need.
Steve cherished his two sons and tried to lead his life in a way that revealed his values of faith, charity, and goodwill to others as a model for them.
Steve Collins was an electrical engineer by trade and graduated from the University of Texas, El Paso. He practiced his vocation while working for Rockwell International, Motorola, Compaq, and retired his career at Hewlett-Packard. Mr. Collins held a patent for his work.
Steve was an avid reader of non-fiction books and enjoyed the outdoors while camping with friends. He was a nonconformist leading his life in the manner he was most comfortable.
Steve’s graveside Messianic service will be held at 11 am on April 11 at King of Saints Tabernacle, 2228 FM 1725, Cleveland, TX 77328. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make a contribution to The King of Saints Tabernacle.
