Stephen Michael Canterberry

Stephen Michael Canterberry, age 56 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was born October 3, 1959 in Houston, Texas to parents Grover and Mildred Canterberry who preceded him in death along with his grandson, Javon Stewart; and granddaughter, Fallyn Thomas.

Growing up he was a daredevil and the sibling guinea pig, sent in to test out the water. He loved music, camping and adored his family. Camping was “home” when he was at Wolf Creek or the Kickapoo.

Survivors include his daughters, Wendy Johnson and husband Oran,
Brandie Thomas; sons, Aaron Canterberry and Garrett Canterberry; sisters, Pat Johnson, Sherry Gill and husband Tom, Rhonda Canterberry and Oliver; brothers, Wayne Johnson and Cleve Canterberry; grandchildren, Courtnee, Jakolbee, Jaiden, Darius, Kristin and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Braylee, Brooklyn, Oaklee and Addison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2016 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
