Sophie Ethel Felton

Sophie Ethel Kocorowski Felton, 92 of Dayton died Monday, September 16, 2013 in Baytown while living at the Cedar Bayou Health Care. Services for Mrs. Felton will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Father Sebastian officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service. Graveside will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday afternoon at Forest Park Cemetery in Houston. Mrs. Felton was born May 9, 1921 in Rosenberg, Texas to parents Stefan and Martha Balcerowicz Kocorowski. She was a lifelong resident of Houston where she was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and had recently moved to Dayton to be with her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Sue Felton. Sophie enjoyed going to the casino, playing dominoes, and bingo. Mrs. Felton was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years Dwight Felton, her brother Alex Schlitzkus and brother-in-law Leonard Sury. She is survived by her daughter: Cynthia Ann Beck and husband Robert of Houston and her son: Allen Wayne Felton and wife Sue of Dayton; her grandson: Michael S. Felton; sister: Sally Sury of Houston and sister-in-law: Marion Meinke Burton of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
