Silas Albert Wood (Buddy), age 86, of Dayton, Texas passed away April 19, 2025.
He was born April 11, 1939, in Belton, Texas to the late Reb and Gladys Wood. Silas was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Baytown.
In addition to his parents Silas was predeceased by his ex-wife, Judy Diana Wood, in 2019; brother Vernon Wood, sisters Louise Jones and Charlene Anderson. Silas is survived by his brother Larry Wood and wife Suzy. Silas is survived by his children, Dana DiFrancesco and husband Robert of Austin, Kathy Pierce and husband Bret of Dayton, Pamela Pare’ and husband Ronnie of Dayton, Jory Wood and wife Leslie of New Braunfels.
Grandchildren, Lindsey Hinojosa and husband Cory of Baytown, Erik Pierce and wife Tamami of Dayton, Jodi Holt and husband Darrick of Dayton, Jered Pierce and wife Brittany of Dayton, Torrie Pare’ of Denver Colorado, Brody Pierce and wife Jamie of Dayton, Seth Wood of New Braunfels, Allie Wood of New Braunfels and predeceased Jesse Woods of Dayton.
Great Grandchildren, Karson, Emma, Addison, Jordon, Jess, Aiden, Jace, Layton, Jaxx, Payson, Connor and Stella.
Silas attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and served in the U.S. Air Force 1960 - 1964. He was a jet mechanic on alert duty scrambling planes in Anchorage, Alaska and also stationed in Charleston, South Carolina.
Silas hobbies included, helping his family and friends with home renovations projects, hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, bingo and Texas 42 Dominos.
The family sincerely thanks the wonderful staff at St. James House of Baytown and the caregivers at the Veterans Affair of Houston for the care of our father.
