Priest, 80 of Dayton passed away on Thursday March 22, 2012 at the Hampton at Post Oak retirement community in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crosby followed by the burial at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home of Dayton. Shirley was born July 17, 1931 in Cheviot, Hamilton County, Ohio to parents August & Thekla Stoll. She was a graduate of Western Hills High School Class of 1949, and also attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest IL from 1952-1955. She has been a long time resident and former school teacher in both Dayton I.S.D. and Lee College in Baytown. She also was a former Texas A&M Mothers club president from 1991-1992. Mrs. Priest has been a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church of Crosby since 1984 where she also taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for many years. Mrs. Priest was preceded in death by her parents, Husband James E.(JIM) Priest, Brothers Ronald and Butch Stoll and sister June. She is survived by her sons Kurt Priest and wife Sherri of Brandenburg, KY. Jon Priest and wife Lisa of Houston, Her grandchildren, Julie, Amanda, and Cynthia Priest and Sisters Martha Leitsch of Phoenix and Catherine Rullman of Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.
