Sheldon John Nichols

Sheldon J. Nichols, 71, of New Caney, died Friday, April 12, 2013, in Montgomery. Memorial services are pending at this time. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Sheldon was born March 17, 1942 in Tecumseh, MI, to parents; Lauren E. and LaMora L. Keys Nichols, a former resident of Huffman, and has resided in New Caney for the past year. He was a graduate of the Tecumseh High School class of 1960, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, was a veteran of the US Army, a retired aircraft mechanic from Bush IAH where he worked for KLM and Air France, and member of the AOPA, NRA, Pilot Mechanics Association, and American Legion. He also enjoyed fishing, collecting firearms, attending gun shows, and motorcycles. Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his father: Lauren E. Nichols, mother: LaMora L. Keys Nichols, wife of 44 years: Linda K. Blumerick Nichols, and sisters: Loah “Lucy” Smith and Ann Nichols. He is survived by his brothers: Norman Nichols of Humble and Clark Nichols of Lansing, MI, niece: Stephanie Neves and husband Cameron of New Caney, great-niece: Ashley Neves, great-nephews: John Cameron Neves and Christopher Neves, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
