Sharon Ann Echols May, 75, of Crosby died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Baytown, Texas.

Service for Mrs. May will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dool officiating. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday before the service. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton.

Sharon was born October 22, 1941 in Houston, Texas to parents, Billie Brittian Echols and Margaret Maurine Cross Echols. She was a member of the 1960 class at Galena Park High School and attended Texas Woman’s University. She continued her education at Jefferson Davis Nursing School where received her bachelor’s degree in nursing and subsequently worked as a registered nurse for over 35 years in a hospital setting. After her retirement she worked as a school nurse for the Galena Park ISD. Sharon was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and being a Sunday school teacher as well as many other activities centered around her church. Additionally, she supported her children being a team mom, attending all their games as an avid spectator. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors whether through vacationing, block parties, or community events. Her passion in caring for people was evident in everything she did.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lillian Katherine Echols. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jack May of Crosby; her sons, Scott May of Crosby and Jeff May and wife Jeannette of Crosby; her daughter, Leann May Hackett and husband Rollon of Crosby; her grandchildren, Rollon Jay Hackett and Kayla Mishel May; her one great grandson, Easton Cash Hackett; her sister, Marilyn Echols Bishop and husband Michael Pulliam of Fort Worth; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
