Obituary: Seth Edward Glover, Jr.
Seth Edward Glover, Jr., 83, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. He was born on August 5, 1941, to Seth Edward Glover, Sr. and Ruby Kelley. A longtime resident of the area, Seth had lived in Mont Belvieu for the past 14 years and spent 35 years in Sheldon prior to that. Seth served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam war where he worked as a welder for several years.
Seth was a devoted husband to his wife, Toni Glover, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. They married as teenagers and built a life filled with love, faith, and companionship. A faithful member of the Baptist faith, Seth was active in the church community, attending Parkway Baptist, Maxey Road Baptist, and most recently, Kenefick Baptist Church. Over the years, he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and helper with Vacation Bible School. Seth also dedicated his time as a groundskeeper for several churches he attended, always willing to lend a hand where needed.
Seth had many interests and passions, with a deep love for nature. He enjoyed tending to his yard and gardening, often feeding the squirrels that visited. A skilled welder by trade, Seth worked the majority of his career at Southwest Wheel after starting at General Truck and Body. His last job was as a maintenance worker at Slay Industries. He also enjoyed working on cars and spent time fishing, finding peace in these simple pleasures.
Seth was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Morris Glover. He leaves behind his loving wife, Toni Glover; his daughter, Lisa O'Farrell; his brother, Robert Glover; his grandchildren, Brooke O'Farrell and Chase O'Farrell; his nephew, James Glover and his wife Lorraine; several great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a service on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Day. A burial will follow at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
