Samuel Dean Thomas, Sr.

Samuel Dean Thomas, Sr., age 67 of Splendora, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019. He was born February 28, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Lee E. Thomas, Sr. and Madeline Thomas. He is preceded in death by his father, Lee E. Thomas, Sr.; and brother, Buzz Thomas.

Sam loved the Lord and was a member of Key Life Fellowship – New Caney for about six years where he served as a teacher. During Sam’s life he spent over 10 years traveling abroad for missionary work, spending most of his time in Honduras installing dental equipment and helping to build the buildings so that the members of the community would have access to dental care. Mr. Thomas worked in the dental industry for many years and was known to make friends wherever he went. Sam was a loving husband to his wife and enjoyed time spent with his family. He will be remembered by those who knew him for being a jokester and finding humor in everything, he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy Thomas; mother, Madeline Thomas; son, Sam Thomas, Jr.; daughters, Patricia Gokey and husband Bobby, Bobbie Marlow and husband Albert; brother, Lee E. Thomas, Jr. and wife Polly; sister, Sharon Holt; grandchildren, Katie and husband Donnie, Brittany and husband Johnny, Brandi, Anthony and wife Emily, Jennifer and husband Jake, Alexis, Lacie, and Jackie; great-grandchildren, Tripp, AaLiyah, Karson, Emery, Sienna, Breeley, and Callie; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with services to begin at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Kirk Hall.
