Samuel David Oldham, age 93, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at his home. He was born on March 23, 1919 in Howe, Oklahoma to parents Alonzo and Lillie Oldham who preceded him in death along with his son Stephen Albert Oldham; his daughter Patricia Gail Oldham; brothers Ollie Oldham, Asa Oldham, Cecil Oldham, Roy Oldham; and his sister Fannie Oldham Stenson.Mr. Oldham was a distinguished Veteran of the U.S. Army, Co. A, 75th Armored Medical Bn., 5th Armored Div. during WWII from December 1940 � October 1945. He was owner/operator of Oldham Auto Recycle & Salvage of Shepherd from 1960 to 2000. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and steadfast friend; he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.He leaves his memories to his loving wife Stevie Hannah Oldham; daughters Katherine Lindsey, Mary Rebecca Benedict and husband, John; son Samuel Doyle Oldham and wife Kathy; sister Katherine Howard; grandchildren O'Neta Kaye Oldham, Jennifer Lynn Jock, Samuel DeWayne Oldham, Kathy Shifflett, Gena Charlton, Angela Rebecca Dunn, John Edward Benedict, II, Mary Ellen Kaye Saltzman; great-grandchildren Aaron, Tiffany, Elizabeth, and Hannah Shifflett, Kaylynn Tuttle, William Partain, Leah Nash, Tre' John Edward Benedick III, Danielle, Ty & Isaiah Oldham, Kamron Herrod, Kate Jock, Erin Oldham; great-great-grandchildren Katelynn, Preston and Nexus Tuttle, Coralee Anna Shifflett; other survivors include Ronnie Lindsey and wife Cheri, Debbie Oldham; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members and faithful friends throughout the years.The family will welcome friends and relatives for visitation Tuesday, August 28, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Lamar Shane and Pastor Kenneth Pippins will preside over funeral services being held Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Guidry Cemetery, Batson, Texas. Pallbearers include Eddie Boothe, Garlon Lee O'Quin, Ted Saltzman, Roger Kinder, Eddie Wood, Joe Bradford, and Matt Jock.
