Ruth Eunice Tawater, age 92, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012. She was born November 22, 1919 in Oilton, Oklahoma to parents Joel King and Josephine Robertson King who preceded her in death along with her devoted husband Roy Neal Tawater; her son Edgar Ronnie Elliott; and her siblings Ruby Belew, Blanche Edner, Melvin King, Lorraine Wilson, and Mildred Peevy. Ruth lived and enjoyed the majority of her life in excellent health. She loved working in her yard, feeding her birds. She especially loved waiting for and watching the hummingbirds. Ruth learned to fish for flounder and redfish at Bolivar with her sisters Lorraine, Blanche and Mildred and she made occasional trips to the casino for fun. She visited often with her sisters and surrounded herself with her children and grandchildren. She had a good, full life and she will be forever missed. She will be remembered lovingly by her surviving children Tommie Ruth Carter and husband Leroy Carter, Pat McShan and husband John McShan, Carolyn Sue Ferraro and husband Samuel Ferraro, Nora Lee McAnally, Herbert Lawrence Elliott and wife Carla Elliott, Edna Lorraine Thornton and husband John A. Thornton, Rita Ann Young and husband Glenn Young, Toni Lynn Vickers and husband James Vickers, Mary Ann Kigar and husband Michael Kigar; countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many other cherished family members and faithful friends throughout the years. Pastor Wyatt Mericle will preside over graveside services being held Friday, June 22, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at Morgan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
