Ruth Debra Teer passed from this life to a better one on Sunday, July 2, 2017. She was born to Rev. Charles W. and Candace Dowden on October 19, 1918 in Livingston, Texas. She was the only daughter with five brothers, who with her parents preceded her in death. She was also the granddaughter of the late Jess Sumrall who lived in the Bluewater settlement for many years. Debra was married to Major James B. Teer (ret) on October 23, 1942, but the Lord called James home in February 2001.
During their 58 years of marriage they were blessed with three loving children who are still living. Kathryn Miller and husband Dealon of Palestine, Texas, Richard Teer and family of Wilsall, Montana, and Charlie Teer and family of Atlanta, Georgia. Debra also leaves 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Shepherd, Texas and she will be buried next to her husband at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Shepherd, Texas. Interment will follow at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
