Ruth Balsley Alkire, 93, of Dayton passed away on November 9, 2020 at home in Dayton. She was born March 25, 1927 in Caldwell, Kansas to parents Ora Balsley and Maybelle Butcher Balsley.
Mrs. Alkire and her husband of 71 years lived in Rome, New York; Oregon, Missouri; San Diego, California and Alturas California before becoming residents of Dayton. She had worked for Fox Photo as a photo finisher and billing supervisor before retiring. She loved making and painting ceramics, growing beautiful flowers, gardening, and being with her friends and family. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Alkire; her sisters, Dorothy, Beulah and Cleo also her niece Alicia and granddaughter Nicole. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Sue; her sons, John Robert and wife Anita, Ronald Glen, Kenneth Dean and wife Diane and Tracy Lee and wife Jennifer; her brothers, Donald and wife Diane and Joseph Balsley and wife Jan ; her grandchildren, Christopher Parker, Jackson Parker, Christopher Alkire and Bobbie Dealy; her great-grandchildren, Lucille Marie Parker, Kathleen Alison, Emily, Brad, Rory, and Jace; also nieces and nephews, Bryon Kreneck and wife Denise, Donna Cotton and husband Larry; Darren, Chris, Troy, Craig and Brad; numerous other family members and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. No services are currently scheduled, a remembrance ceremony will be scheduled at a later time.
