Rudolph William Dennis, Sr., age 75 of Conroe, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016. He was born December 22, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Michael James Dennis and Zula V. Thorn. He is preceded in death by his mother, Zula V. Thorn; wife, Jeannie Dennis; sister, Mary Bridges; and brothers, twin – Mike Dennis, Ted Dennis.
Survivors include his children, Cecil Thorn and wife Melissa, Rudy Dennis, Jr. and wife Denise; grandchildren, Rebekah, Ella, Keegan, Dakota and Amber; sibling, Arletta Stickney; special nieces, Tina Mallard and husband Alan, Jeannie O’Daniel and husband Steve; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and two great-grandchildren.
Rudy was active in Elks lodge and involved in numerous benefits to help others in need. He cooked one heck of a brisket and loved to play poker and moon dominoes. He loved the Texans. He also loved to solve word search puzzles, western movies and books. He worked for Western Waste for twelve years. After leaving, he drove a log truck until retirement. Rudy was the neighborhood encyclopedia and knew everything about everybody that came in or out of the neighborhood.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. Graveside services will follow starting at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.
