Rubye N. McKaskle Darby, 89, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Oakmont Health and Rehab Center in Humble.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Rubye was born March 30, 1927 in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to parents; William H. and Mary M. Sims McKaskle, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 26 years. She was a graduate of Winnsboro High School, a retired rate clerk for DSI Transport, former president of the Houston Women’s Transportation Group, and a former bowling instructor. Rubye held memberships in the First Baptist Church of Dayton as well as the church choir and Order of Eastern Star. She also enjoyed plastic canvas crafts, reading, travel, and was an avid Houston sports fan as long as her teams were winning.
Mrs. Darby was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 22 years: Enoch T. Darby, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son: Gary Darby and wife Linda of Humble, daughter: Cheryl Dreier and husband Keith of Dayton, grandchildren: Ronnie Tiemann and wife Dee Anna, Colin Darby and wife Patricia, Randy Dreier and wife Brooke, Sean Darby, great-grandchildren: Mason Moore, Sean Patrick Darby, Ella Moore, Lily Darby, Baldur Darby, Tyr Darby, Violet Colleen Darby, Rose Ember Darby, and one on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
