Ruby Lee Duke, age 86 and a resident of Splendora, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Kingwood Medical Center. She was born in Leesville, Louisiana on April 01, 1927 to parents Samuel Edward and Evie Toney Parker who preceded her in death along with her loving husband Ellis Duke. Mrs. Duke was a member of the Church of Christ; and a member of the Eastern Star. She was kind and giving, sweet and loving, tender hearted, and deeply devoted to her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughters Sandra Duke-Hales, Ruby Ann Duke-Elliott; son Ellis Edmond Duke; sisters Patricia Parker-Brice, Sharon Parker-Jaggers; grandchildren Michael Duke, Crystal Duke-Dubose, Sam Hales, Wendy Hales, Stephen Blackman, Stephanie Blackman; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other cherished family members and faithful friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 02, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Gary Shiftlet will preside over funeral services being held Monday, June 03, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Splendora City Cemetery, Splendora, Texas. Pallbearers include Mike Duke, Steve Blackman, Mike Brice, Bradley Brice, Sam Hales, Ben Dubose, Michael Dubose, and Curtis Duke; honorary pallbearers include Sean Hales, Zachary Hales, Jacob Masterson, Jesse Millhausen, Joey Masterson, J. Millhausen, Bobby Sheats, and James Dean.
