Ruby Fae Salinas, 91, of Crosby, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ruby was born March 14, 1919 in Brownsboro, to parents; Claude J. “C.J.” and Bertha Lee Nelson Salinas, a former resident of Cookeville, and has resided in the Crosby area for the past 54 years. She was a retired owner of the Tall Pines Store, a graduate of the Cookeville High School, and enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, and reading her bible. Mrs. Salinas was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Nevada M. Gibson, brothers: Claude A. and Rufus C. Salinas, and two nieces. She is survived by her son: Doyle Huffman of Crosby, sisters: Amy Talley of Phoenix, AZ and Billie Embree and husband Austin of Flower Mound, sister-in-law: Nell Salinas Cobb and husband Charlie of Crosby, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
