Rosalie Flowers McCombs, 91, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Dayton. She was born February 25, 1926 in Hardin County to her late parents, Gilbert R. Flowers and Irene Jewel Read Flowers.
Mrs. McCombs family moved from El Dorado, Arkansas to Texas in 1931 where she graduated from high school in 1942. In 1944 she enrolled in the University of Missouri and was later employed by Gulf States Utilities which took her to Dayton, Texas in 1951. She met and married Dick C. Youngblood, Sr. and they had four children. She attended Lonnie’s School of Hair Design, owned and operated a beauty salon in Dayton for 10 years. Rosalie earned a nursing degree from Lee College in 1971. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star #634 and Rebekah Lodge #1082.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry “Mac” McCombs; her children’s father, Dick C. Youngblood, Sr.; son Dick C. Youngblood, II and daughter, Carla Lisa Welder.
Survivors include her daughters, Carmen LaRette Pratka and her husband Ronnie and Carol Lori Kolarik and her husband Gerald and a sister, Jewel Deen Curry all of Dayton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lori Leigh Hembree, Bowen and Allyson Pratka, Dela Pratka, Amy Irene and Kyle Singer, Kelli Reneé and Brittney Kolarik, William Duncan, IV and Stephanie Welder, Anna Lisa and Scott Codon, Dick Coleman Youngblood, III, Shane Jordan Youngblood, Meagan Nicole Youngblood and Jacob Matthew Youngblood; great-grandchildren, Logan, B.J., Phillip, Cole, Collin, Jackson, Carys, Caitlyn, Jack, Aric, Will, Acelyn, Aaron, David, Shawn, Autumn, Arian, Bodie and Brantley; nephews, Keith Curry and his wife Donna and Scott Curry.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.
Pallbearers will be Duncan Welder, IV, Dick Coleman Youngblood, III, Shane Jordan Youngblood, Jacob Matthew Youngblood, Bowen Pratka, Kyle Singer and Scott Codon. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan, B.J, Phillip, Jackson and Cole.
