Ron R. Pop Pinnock, a.k.a. Superman, 78, of Dayton, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 26, 2015, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place in Pennsylvania, close to many of his family and friends. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ron was born October 11, 1937 in Ridley, Pennsylvania, to parents; Robert and Ethel Corkadel Pinnock, was a former resident of Huffman, and has resided in Dayton for the past 12 years. He served in the US Navy from July 16, 1957 to April 23, 1963 as an Aviation Structural Hydraulics Mechanic in the All Weather Fighter Squadron Four and was a helicopter mechanic for Boeing Vertol repairing Chinooks during the Vietnam War. Prior to retiring he was employed by Eastern Airlines as a ramp serviceman. He also enjoyed games of all kinds including; pinochle, dominoes, Yahtzee, and poker. His strength, vibrant sense of humor, strong moral compass, love for and dedication to his friends and family were admired by all who knew him. Pop earned his nickname Superman by surviving countless life threatening situations and illnesses, proving that he was made of steel. Mr. Pinnock was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Robert and Richard, and sister: Rose Marie. He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Barbara Jean Stephens Pinnock, his children: Ronald Pinnock and wife Alicia of North Carolina, Stephanie Rosier and husband Shannon of Atascocita, Dawn Fenstermacher and husband Ray of Pennsylvania, and Jennifer Senyk of Atascocita, sister: Ethel Mae Lewis and husband Charles of Delaware, grandchildren: Ryan and Corinne Pinnock, Melissa and Colton Rosier, Benjamin Fenstermacher, Nicole Lehotay, Joseph Wreyford, Jr., and Zachary Tice, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
