Roland James Wilson, 76, of Moss Bluff, died Monday, September 8, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell Brown officiating and burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Roland was born September 4, 1938 in Tampa, Florida, a former resident of Page, and has resided in Moss Bluff for the past 32 years. He was a veteran of US Army 101st Airborne Division, former owner of Whitney Glass and Mirror, and a commercial fisherman. He also enjoyed being at the river, fishing, and camping. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his father: James J. Wilson, mother: Tamara Williams Provost, brothers: Vernon and Aaron Wilson, and sister: Louise James. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 52 years: Mary Norris Wilson of Moss Bluff, daughters: Arahonda Conley of Texas City, Sandra McHenry of Gatesville, Deborah Comans of Mississippi, Elizabeth Rash of Mississippi, and Patricia Clark of Mississippi, sons: Anthony Brown of Moss Bluff and Leon Brown of Mississippi, sisters: Christine Pounds of Onalaska and Martha J. Parchinsky of Alabama, brother: Johnny E. Wilson of Austin, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
