Obituary for Robert Michael Moorman

Robert Michael Moorman, 81, of Wallisville, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Houston. Born on July 17, 1943, in Livingston, Texas, to Elmer Ray Moorman and Lettie Lucille Holmes Moorman, Robert dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his faith. Robert also performed his military duties in the Army by serving his country faithfully in Vietnam.

For the past 42 years, Robert made Wallisville his home, following earlier years in Baytown. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as an electrical designer with Lubrizol, where he developed lasting friendships and treasured memories. A proud member of the Hankamer Fellowship Community Church, Robert took great pride in having drawn the blueprints for the church during its early stages, reflecting his commitment to his faith and community.

Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life—bass fishing, hunting, and spending time on his 18 acres, especially by his beloved pond. He was passionate about gardening, often nurturing delicious watermelons and cantaloupes, which he shared with family and friends. His loyal dog, Duke, was a constant companion, and their time together brought him immense happiness.

Above all, Robert cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Anna Moorman; their sons, Adam Moorman and wife Heather, and Robert M. Moorman, Jr. and wife Lela; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Cade, Michaela, Cole and Gussie Moorman. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Moorman, and sister Nathalie Moorman.

A service to honor Robert's life will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hankamer Fellowship Christian Church in Hankamer, Texas, with burial to follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Pallbearers include Wyatt Moorman, Steve Moorman, Robert Moorman, Spencer Neitch, Paul Monroe, and Mark Starkey. Services will be led by Pastor Hubert Breaux, Jr. and Brother Spencer Neitch.

Robert Moorman will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to his family, and love for the outdoors. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
