Robert John Knapp

Robert John Knapp, born on August 8, 1977, in Channelview, passed away peacefully in Houston on February 20, 2025. Robert led a life filled with dedication, joy, and a passion for nature, leaving behind cherished memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

 A proud graduate of C. E. King High School in Sheldon, Robert made an impact as an iron worker in the construction business. His robust work ethic and commitment to his craft earned him the respect of colleagues and the admiration of countless others.

 Robert is survived by his mother, Kathy Cochran, and his beloved children, Summer Knapp, Skye Knapp, and Sierra Lee. His legacy continues through his four grandchildren, Lieam, Aurora, Tanner, and Brye. He is also remembered by his sisters, Tracy Owens and Stacey Walters, cousins Teresa Cochran and Shawn Matlow along with numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will carry his memory forward.

 He was predeceased by his father, Kevin Lyster, and his son, Justin Gonzales, who, along with Robert, are now reunited.

 Outside of his professional life, Robert had a multitude of interests. He found peace and enjoyment in fishing, camping, and golfing, all activities that allowed him to connect with the great outdoors. His love for music spanned across all genres, and he loved collecting various items that piqued his interest.

 Robert will be missed by his family, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. A graveside service will be held at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, Texas, on March 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM officiated by Brother Josh Cathey.
