Robert Burton Kimm

Robert Burton Kimm, age 87 and a resident of Splendora, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home. He was born in 1926 in Orange, New Jersey. Mr. Kimm was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army during WWII. He was a 1953 graduate of Yale University with a degree in Engineering. He was marred 59 years to the love of his life Marion. He was a devoted family man and a member of the United Methodist Church in Splendora, Texas. He was an avid philatelist with an extensive collection going back to his early childhood. He was active in the CAR, SAR and an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America; he also enjoyed playing bridge, going to the casinos, and singing in the church choir. He had a gift for making beautiful creations out of leather. He had a very dry sense of humor and a sharp wit that will be sorely missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents Willard I. and Mabel C. Kimm; brother Willard C. Kimm; sister-in-law Gladys W. Kimm; and his niece Catherine W. Kimm; father and mother-in-law Edward and Lillian Breitbach; brother-in-law Edward Breitbach Jr. Survivors include his loving wife Marion B. Kimm; sons David R. Kimm and wife Lauren, Steven M. Kimm and wife Kristen; daughter Charlotte K. Gann and husband Douglas; brothers Howard F. Kimm and wife Mildred, Richard C. Kimm and wife Barbara; sister-in-law Mrs. Willard Kimm "Toni"; grandchildren Jason Woodward, Jeffrey Woodward, Ryan Gann, Shelley Gann, Nicole Kimm, Michael Kimm, Karen Ellis, Kelsey Kimm, Eric Kimm; great-grandchildren Nathan Gann, Christopher Gann, Caci Woodward, Isabel Woodward, Hudson Woodward, and Veronica Ellis; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and treasured friends throughout the years. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 24, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Countryside United Methodist Church, Splendora, Texas.
