Rickey Reed

Rickey Reed, 56, of Dayton died Sunday, August 1, 2010. He was born August 3, 1953 in LaMarque, Texas to parents: James C. and Ruby Jo Reed. Rickey was a lifetime resident of Dayton where he graduated from Dayton High School in 1972. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, enjoyed hunting, visiting with his friends, riding motorcycles and working on them. Services for Rickey will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton with interment to follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Reed, his mother, Ruby Jo Miller, grandmother, Idella Flowers Reed and brother, Rex Reed. Rickey is survived by his daughter: Rana Myers and husband Johnny of Batson; his son: Bud Reed of Dayton; his grandson: Tristen Myers; special friend: Mandy Hall; his niece: Andrea Payonk of Dayton; his nephews: James and Randy Reed of Dayton; mother of his children: Kim Matlock of Dayton; sister-in-law Jana Reed of Dayton; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
