Richard L. McKenna, 58, of Splendora, died Sunday, September 1, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland with burial following at the Security Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Richard was born October 15, 1954 in Houston, to parents; Fredrick W. and Bobbie J. Dykes McKenna, and has resided in Splendora throughout his lifetime. He was a cabinet maker by trade and a member of the Lighthouse Revival Church where he was a praise and worship leader. He also enjoyed fishing, restoring cars, playing the guitar, and especially spending time with family. Mr. McKenna was preceded in death by his father: Fredrick W. McKenna. He is survived by his wife of 39 years: Brenda K. Horton McKenna of Horton, sons: Colby McKenna and wife Amanda of Cleveland and Kelly McKenna and wife Burgandy of Cleveland, daughters: Beth Murray and husband Marty of New Caney and Shellie Wells and husband Allen of Splendora, mother: Bobbie J. Dykes McKenna of Splendora, brothers: Pat McKenna of Splendora and Greg McKenna and wife Lynn of Splendora, sisters: Billie Jo McCulloch and husband Mike of Splendora, Sheron Metts of Conroe, and Virginia Whitlow and husband Mike of VA, grandchildren: Zachary McKenna, McKenna Downey, Katie McKenna, Alysa McKenna, Noah McKenna, Wade Wells, Emma McKenna, Allie Wells, Dylan Murray, and Dalton Murray, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
