Richard Alan Lambert

On May 29, 2024, Richard Alan Lambert passed away at the age of 67, leaving a deep void in the hearts of his family and the community he cherished. Richard was born on February 1, 1957, in Houston, Texas to his loving parents Richard and Dorothy Lambert. Growing up, he attended Tarkington High School before pursuing his passion for agriculture at Sam Houston State University.

Richard dedicated his life to various family businesses including Romayor Grocery, Lambert's BBQ, C-R Construction, Lambert’s Propane, and Lambert's Ready Mix. His commitment to these enterprises was surpassed only by the relationships he cultivated within the community. Richard took immense pride in the enduring friendships he formed over the years.

In the year 2000, Richard found love with Stephanie, and together they welcomed two daughters into their lives – Megan in 2003 and Beth in 2005. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he cherished nothing more than being a devoted husband and father. Richard considered raising his daughters alongside Stephanie as his greatest accomplishment.

Despite his professional commitments, Richard nurtured a passion for cattle and remained actively involved in the cattle industry throughout his life. In 2015, he and his girls established the "Little Women Cattle Company," specializing in raising registered Brahman cattle.

Richard will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Lambert and his mother-in-law, Linda Purswell. Richard is survived by his wife of 23 years, Stephanie Lambert; daughters, Megan Lambert and Beth Lambert; mother, Dorothy Lambert; brothers, Chris Lambert and Kimbel Lambert; brothers-in-law; Jody Purswell and wife Sara, Tim Purswell and wife Anissa; nieces and nephews, Grace Purswell, Henry Purswell, Brody Purswell, and Mason Purswell; father-in-law, Don Purswell; along with numerous beloved friends.

Services honoring Richard's life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1pm followed by the funeral service at 2pm with Dale Faircloth officiating. Richard will be laid to rest at Oak Shade Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Serving as pallbearers will be Carlton Kervin, Henry Patterson, David Raskosky, Bo Taylor, Jody Purswell, Tim Purswell, Mark Harriman, and GB Williams.
