Raymond Roscoe Rice, Jr. ( Ricky) 77 of Liberty, Texas passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Kingwood, Texas. He was born June 29, 1941 in Houston, Texas to parents Raymond Roscoe Rice, Sr. and Corrine Moore Rice.
Memorial service for Ricky will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Mr. Rice was a resident of the Liberty area after moving here from Livingston where he lived with his wife Judy and worked at the Pulunski Unit as a guard for 10 yrs. He attended C.E King High School. He worked as a Machinist for 35 yrs around shops of Houston before retiring and moving to Livingston to work at the prison.He was a mechanic who in his younger years raced at Meyer Speedway in Houston and at Dayton drag strip. Loved Fords loved Guns and spent later years in a shooting club dressing as “ Josey Wales” and entering shooting competitions to fill his retired time.Plus attending cars shows with his Ford Lightning and his sons Gran Torino.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy Rice and brother Paul Rice. He is survived by his son, Richard Rice and wife Kelly of Dayton; grandchildren, Ryan Rice Rusty Rice and Dixie Verneuil of Dayton great-grandchildren, Jayce Verneuil, Zoey Rice, Ryance Rice, and Oaklee Rice; sisters, Denise Hannusch and husband Donnie, Betty Raye Henry; and Corinna and Lynn Steele; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends plus 2 dogs and a cat. He always be loved and missed !
