Ray Stimac, age 92, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 08, 2013 in Houston, Texas. He was born February 13, 1920 in Cleveland, Texas. Mr. Stimac was in the construction business and was a carpenter by trade. Mr. Stimac was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army, served from October 1942 – January 1946 in the 67th Fighter Squadron. His campaigns were New Guinea, South Philippines and Luzon Air Combat. He was decorated with the American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. With respectful gratitude for the life shared and now blessedly at rest, and with heartfelt praise in memory of Mr. Ray Stimac, he will be remembered. He was born to parents Matt and Minnie Stimac who preceded him in death along with his son Amil Ray Stimac; and his brother Craig Stimac. Survivors include his loving wife Lorine Stimac; son Emil Stimac and wife Bertha; grandson Jason Ray Stimac; and a host of faithful friends throughout the years. Visitation will be held Friday, January 11, 2013, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Carl Williamson will preside over funeral services being held Saturday, January 12, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
