R. G. “Jerry†Rayburn, 78, of Kenefick, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Jerry was born June 28, 1935 in Barbers Hill, to parents; William B. and Mamie D. Bass Rayburn, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Kenefick for the past 58 years. He was a retired boilermaker, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, and going to the casino. Mr. Rayburn was preceded in death by his father: William B. Rayburn, mother: Mammie D. Bass Rayburn, son: Craig Rayburn, granddaughter: Machelle Rayburn, and brother: William Rayburn. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Pearline Beard Rayburn of Kenefick, sons: Robert Rayburn and wife Rhonda of Kenefick and Marshall Rayburn of Kenefick, daughter: Susan Kelly and husband Mark of Beaumont, brother: Carl Rayburn of MS, sisters: Mary Shannon of Hull, Margaret Measles of Madisonville, Lola Malberry of Hardin, and Carol Hudspeth of MS, five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
